I started BusaBoy to share the things that are often learned only through time: the small techniques, mistakes, decisions and observations that gradually shape a diver.
My relationship with the sea began while snorkelling with my father. My first breath underwater came in Sharm El Sheikh in February 2001. I later developed professionally at Y-40, The Deep Joy, progressing from PADI Divemaster to IDC Staff Instructor under the guidance of Course Director Alberto Calesella, before making Malta the centre of my diving life.
The number on this website is deliberately precise: 3,600+ logged dives. The real total is certainly higher, but I prefer to publish only the dives that are documented in my logbook.
The original blog was left with many finished drafts waiting for images and time. This website gives those articles a permanent home and makes the complete archive useful again.
Today, outside diving, I work at M&A Ltd in Malta. BusaBoy remains my independent personal diving archive, created to preserve and share what I have learned underwater.

Before his years as a full-time diving professional, Antonio’s work centred on instruction, operational planning, leadership and safety.
Antonio entered the Italian Air Force Academy in 1994 as a pilot cadet and graduated in 1998. His military career included service as a course director, Force Protection Commander, NATO deployments in Kosovo and Afghanistan, work in personnel recovery, and duties in the Italian Rescue Coordination Centre.
That background shaped the way he approaches diving: preparation matters, procedures matter, and an instructor’s responsibility continues long after a student has learned the basic skills.
