01 · Profile

Your dive profile

Each row is a target depth. In Time at level mode, the time excludes travel. In Leave-level runtime mode, the number is the runtime at which you leave that level.

Gas blends

Enable Deco only for gases you will carry and use on ascent. Enter each blend’s combined cylinder volume, starting pressure and reserve.

How MOD and gas switches work

Every planned segment must stay within its oxygen limits. Hypoxic blends require an explicit breathable travel level. Manual ascent switches happen on arrival at the next level; descent switches happen before travel. Automatic deco switches use the richest enabled blend within its MOD. MOD is rounded down to 0.1 m using your pressure and water settings, so an O₂ switch may be slightly shallower than 6 m. The final stop can move shallower to accommodate this. A pressure reserve is separate from the team minimum-gas estimate.

Optional Nitrox helper. Move one control and the others stay mathematically linked using the standard 1 ATA surface / 10 m seawater convention. The main planner still uses its configured pressure, altitude and water-density settings.

03 · Contingency

Build the + plan

The contingency calculation adds the depth and time to the deepest planned level, then recalculates the ascent.

Conservatism

RMV · litres/min

Separate rates make the gas report more transparent: working gas, ascent travel and stationary decompression can be modelled independently.

Travel rates · m/min

No-stop ascent

Enabled by default to reflect the BusaBoy habit of a 3-minute precautionary stop around 5 m on no-stop dives. Required decompression schedules use their calculated stops instead.

Environment

Salt water defaults to 1.030 kg/L and fresh water to 1.000 kg/L. You can edit the density for a known site.

Minimum gas estimate

This is a transparent reserve estimate, not a universal agency rock-bottom rule. For decompression dives it estimates team gas from the deepest point to the first usable independent deco gas. If no such destination exists, the planner will say so rather than invent a reserve.

Your plan

Everything runs locally in the browser. No dive profile or gas data is sent to BusaBoy.

Gas-limited plan

Stay as long as the gas allows

Find the longest hold at the deepest planned level while leaving every used cylinder's entered reserve. The result still includes ascent, decompression and safety-stop gas.

Ready when you are

The profile will appear here.

Set the levels, gases and model parameters, acknowledge the safety note, then calculate.

Understand the model

Don't just use the numbers.

The useful part of a planner is knowing what the numbers mean. The BusaBoy archive already covers the model behind this page and why different decompression strategies can produce different answers.
